Transfer Station

The Town of Duck Lake transfer station located north of town is no longer in service to the public.  The Town has partnered with the Rural Municipality of Duck Lake in a shared transfer station located SE of the hamlet of MacDowall just off Highway 11.  Town residents are directed to use this site for the disposal of excess bagged household garbage and bagged yard and garden waste.  Trees and branches must be disposed in the designated area.

Open the second and fourth Saturdays of every month from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. 

Disposal fees:  $2 per bag of waste or $50 for a 1/2 ton load.  Town patrons will be invoiced for use.

There will be a large item drop off in the Spring (May) where you can bring furniture, mattresses and non-freon containing applicances.

Items NOT ALLOWED at the transfer station:

  • Sod, dirt or concrete
  • Construction or demolition materials including boards, roofing materials, carpets, etc.
  • Automotive parts, oil filters, oil, etc.
  • Liquids of any kind
  • Tires
  • Animals or animal parts
  • Fuel, adesives or combustibles
  • Batteries, freon or hazardous waste
  • Large items or appliances
